Richmond Dental has always served as a reliable source for all your dental needs. With the help of advanced technology, we are able to provide our patients with the highest quality care possible.
Dr. Novak and his team use technology as an integral part of their patient care. We evaluate and select innovative as well as tried and true materials and equipment that we feel will provide the best results for our patients. State of the art technology allows us to enhance the quality and experience of your dental treatment.
For all dental procedures, we use high power microscopes or loupes with attached lights that allow better visibility in the mouth. This enhances the detail and precision of our work. This results in you, the patient, getting the highest possible quality of dental care.
Many dental practices use old-fashioned air-driven handpieces (the dental term for "drills") for dental restorations. Considering it is one of the most important tools in performing quality dental treatment, we prefer using a more modern version, the electric handpiece. This results in more comfort and accuracy with less vibration and noise in comparison to the air-driven handpiece. This leads to precise fit and finish and exceptional results in your dental restorations.
Digital radiographs (x-rays) allow us to see things we are unable to see with the naked eye. Digital imaging exposes our patients to far less radiation (approximately 80-90% less) than traditional x-rays. We only take the images that are appropriate and necessary for the proper diagnosis of our patients. They can help us:
Digital imaging enables us to magnify images, which allows us to see in exceptional detail. It also allows us to store the images taken at different stages of dental treatment and enables us to transfer them easily and quickly to specialists and insurance companies as needed. They are also very helpful as references for future dental procedures.
A picture is worth a thousand words!
Dr. Novak and his team utilize intraoral camera technology that simplifies the understanding of your dental issues. An intraoral camera is a very small device that allows us to view clear and precise pictures of your teeth, gum tissues, and mouth. With clear, defined, enlarged images, you can see details that may have been missed by routine examinations.
Like Digital Imaging, Intraoral Cameras enable us to save and transfer the images. They are of great help in keeping permanent records of treatments and to print or transfer the images to the lab or insurance companies.
Cavity-Detecting Software (Caries Detect)
This software ensures 100% accuracy, looking at the areas between teeth that can’t be viewed using traditional methods. This helps to determine cavities at their earliest stage.
